Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 6, 2026

NJ Institute for Pain Relief wants everyone to be able to find an office, learn about our care and request an appointment on this website, including people who use assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We consider the Site partially conformant: most of it meets the standard, and we are working on the known limitations listed below.

What we have built in

  • A "skip to main content" link, page landmarks and a logical heading order on every page.
  • Keyboard access to the menus, forms, chat assistant, review slider and video players, with a visible focus outline.
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images, and a visible label on every form field with clear error messages.
  • Colour contrast checked against AA levels, and text that can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
  • Touch targets sized for phones, and a mobile layout that works in portrait and landscape.
  • Moving content you control: the home-page background video and the review slider each have a pause button, pause when you hover or focus on them, and do not move at all when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Videos open only when you press play, in YouTube's player, which supports captions and keyboard controls.
  • Phone numbers you can tap to call, and addresses that open in Google Maps.

Known limitations

  • Captions on our videos come from YouTube and may be automatically generated.
  • Text over photographs and video sits on a dark overlay, but contrast can vary with the image underneath.
  • Some small inline links, for example in form notes and the footer, are smaller than 44 × 44 pixels.
  • Third-party content such as Google Maps, YouTube and linked social media pages is outside our control.

How we test

We review the Site with keyboard-only navigation, a screen reader, browser zoom and automated checks (Lighthouse and axe), on desktop and mobile, whenever we make significant changes.

Compatibility

The Site is designed to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox, and with the screen readers built into Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
