Hip Pain Treatment in New Jersey
The hip is a ball-and-socket joint held stable by the labrum, capsule and ligaments. Learn how the hip works and how our team can help.
The hip joint is formed where the thighbone (femur) meets the pelvis. The top of the femur is shaped like a ball that fits into a socket in the pelvis called the acetabulum.
What keeps the hip stable
Inside the socket, a flexible rim of soft tissue called the labrum adds stability. A joint capsule and several ligaments surround the joint and help strengthen it.
How we help
Hip care at NJIFPR can include orthopedics, including arthroscopic hip surgery, along with physical therapy and pain management.
